In Ceramics students will explore the medium of clay. Clay terms will be reintroduced and applied to projects. Students will work with low fire white art and red earthenware clay. Students will learn various hand building techniques including coil, slab and drape molding. Students will learn the differences between underglazes and glazes and how to apply them as well as fundamentals about firing and the kiln. Students will be allowed to explore throwing on the wheel in Advanced Ceramics or if time allows in Ceramics.
