As we look at advisory, this proposal has been made:
Structure advisories so that they are a combination of 7th and 8th grade students. Students here for 2 years stay with the same instructor.
Pro's:
- Relationships exist with students and families for 2 years.
- ability to create and foster 8th to 7th grade mentor/mentee pairings
- Greater ability to link interest/affinities between teachers/students
Con's:
- Cannot maintain Team separation.
- Concerns about staffing instability - expectation that one or more groups each year will loose their teacher.
